Property specifications - or your wish list….
This is just a guide to what your estate agent will need to know in order not to waste your time but rather to direct you to properties which meet with most of your criteria. Clearly, there may be other requirements, such as access to broadband, but these are the basics we need to understand your needs and your taste.
Location
- Which area of the Aude or the Ariège?
- In a town? In a village? Must the village have shops?
- On the edge of a village? Isolated? (Not a good idea for a holiday home since squatters exist here too…)
- Are views important?
Property
- How many bedrooms?
- Old property or new? (New is always cheaper)
- In the case of an old village house, are you happy if it has no outside space or would you like a courtyard or a terrace?
- Garden? How big?
- Swimming pool? Garden big enough to install one?
- Garage? Outbuildings?
- Would you renovate or do you want somewhere ready to move into?
Budget
- What is your maximum budget?
Would this include renovations? - Any other requirements?
